UE/R: Police cages Raped suspect

The police in the Upper East Region has apprehended a suspect who allegedly raped a 16-year-old final student of the Adaboya Junior High School in the Bongo District Court of the Upper East Region.

28-year-old Thomas Boat allegedly committed the act on the 6th of September, 2021 at Piitanga a suburb of Kongo in the Nabdam District when the teenager paid a visit to parents at Adaboya.

The victim earlier in an interview with word news narated her post-traumatic stress after the sad event.

The helpless victim is said to have cried for help when she was overpowered by her molester, but got no rescuer. “He overpowered and dragged me into his his room and forced me to sit on his bed , while I was sitting on his bed ,I was crying .He placed his hand on my shoulder and I removed his hand , he forced to touch my breast , asked me to removed my dress and I refused. He naked himself, forcefully remove my vest and underwear , turn my two hands backwards as he forces to sleep with me ,I cried for help and one gentleman came knocking on the door and asked him to release me but he recused. As I cried he removed a metal by his bed and threatened to beat me with it “ she lamented.

The gold miner was on the run upon a slepery tactics with law enforcers until his arrest on the 10th of November, 2021.

He has since been arranged before the Bolgatanga circuit Court.

Police disclosed to Word news that the suspect has been Remanded into police custody after his first Court appearance to reappear tommorow November 15th.
