Black Thursday as Former Navrongo MP, Kofi Adda Passes on

The Navrongo Constituency and members of the New patriotic Party in the Upper East have been thrown into a state of shork and morning at the demise of the former Member of Parliament of the Navrongo Central constituency.

Starrfm.com announced the passing of the former law maker and minister in a publication early in the morning of Thursday 14th, October,2021 stating that ” Former Aviation Minister Kofi Adda has died Thursday dawn at a hospital in Accra after a short ailment, a family source has confirmed”

The Navrongo Central Constituency secretary of the New Patriotic Party and a close pal of the former MP, Mr. Amoah Moses, confirmed the sad new to Host of the Community Watch Show on Word Fm in a phone interview

” This morning we got up to hear this sad news of his passing. Family sources who spoke to us said when he got to Accra, he was unwell and was taken to the hospital where he passed on.”

Mr. Amoah disclosed that Mr. Joseph Kofi Adda was last seen in the Navrongo constituency on Wednesday 13th October, 2021, where he visited his farms before boarding the last flight from Tamale to Accra.

” Hon. Joseph Kofi Adda was in Navrongo yesterday and went about his activities. He was very healthy and strong, he visited his farms yesterday and interacted with people. He left for Accra in the Afternoon with the Last Flight”

Hon Kofi Adda first became a member of Parliament in 2003 through a by-election after the demise of the incumbent Member of Parliament , john Achuliwor. He won the general elections in 2004 and 2008 to retain the seat for the NPP but lost it to the Hon. Mark Wayongo, the then Upper East Regional Minister.

He held the positions of Minister of Manpower Development and Employment and Minister of Energy under former president Kufuor and Minister of Water Sanitation and Water and Resources and Ministry of Aviation Under president Nana Addo.

He lost the Navrongo Central Constituency NPP parliamentary primaries to the former Upper East Regional Minister, Madam Tangoba Abayage.
