UE/R: DR. ADONGO DONATES TO ZUARUNGU HEALTH DIRECTORATE.

A deputy director In-charge of Diaspora Affairs at the Office of the President – Dr. Nadia Adongo Musah has donated health delivery items to management of Zuarungu Health Center in the Bolgatanga East district of the Upper East Region. Among the essential items donated include; 1,500 pieces of disposal gowns, 225 packs of N95 nose mask and 4 sets of Resuscitations gadgets as well as other consumables.
Receiving the items, the Bolgatanga district director of Health services, Mr. Eugene Osei Yeboah was full of praise for the endless gestures of Dr. Nadia towards the welfare of the district. “Dr. Nadia has been instrumental in our health delivery. I can only say that this donation is a timely rescue. We were almost running out of a lot of items”. Mr. Eugene added “these are the consumables we use on daily basis so at the height of Covid-19, we received some donations, but those donations have dwindle. We really appreciate her kind gesture”.
Mr Eugene Osei Yeboah lamented that staff of the facility are left with no option as they use one nose mask for a couple of days due to its deficiency. “Instead of using five nose masks for five days, a staff might end up getting only one or two due to its scarcity”. He assured that the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be put to good use.
Dr Nadia equally presented 2000 disposal gowns, 150 N95 Nose masks and 71 goggles to the Gambigo Health Centre, a facility she has adopted. She cautioned residents and health staff not to let their guards down, warning that Covid-19 is still a health issue being fought worldwide. The donated items, she disclosed was received through the Diaspora African Forum, under the African Union which has been at the helping end of deprived communities.
She promised to use her office positively for the development of deprived communities. “As I always say, I am very fortunate being in that office. it’s not because of me personally, but I think am put in that office to also help my community and that’s why any time the opportunity comes to me to bring something back home, I always push for us to also get what is meant for us. Anyone who knows me know that am always fighting for the North. I’ve done same when I was in Canada I was the PRO for 15 years, where the advocacy was helping to bring things to the Northern part of Ghana”.
Health staff who spoke to www.mywordfmonline.com encouraged Dr. Nadia to prolong her kind donations.
