Bolgatanga East: Chief Appeals to Next MP to Facilitate Construction of Yarigabisi-Gambigo BOST Road

During the annual Akai-zenga festival, Naba Patrick Ayimbila, the Chief of Yarigabisi, made a heartfelt appeal to the parliamentary candidates for the Bolgatanga East constituency. He urged both Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Hon. Silas Mathew Amoah of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to prioritize the construction and completion of the Yarigabisi-Gambigo BOST road.

The chief highlighted the importance of this road, which is vital for easing heavy traffic and fostering infrastructural development in the surrounding communities. He expressed concern over the abandoned construction of a bridge linking BOST, Winkogo, Baare, and neighboring areas. Originally scheduled for completion within six months, the project has stalled due to financial constraints.

Mr. Peter Dagadu, the project consultant and engineer, revealed that the bridge was awarded at a cost of GH¢6.6 million, covering only the sub-structure and concrete work. He emphasized that this funding, provided by the Government of Ghana in collaboration with the Czech Republic, was insufficient for the entire project.

Naba Patrick Ayimbila stated, “I want to again use this platform to inform and encourage our politicians present, most especially Hon. Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine and Hon. Silas Mathew Amoah, that should any of them as their party win this December 7 election, they should push hard for the construction and completion of the road linking Gambibgo and Yarigabisi to the BOST area which will ease heavy traffic in town and bring a lot of infrastructural development to these communities.” This appeal underscores the pressing need for infrastructural development in the region, particularly as the December elections approach.
