Yine Nongre, a youth group in Winkogo, a suburb of the Talensi district of the Upper East Region has supported the less privileged in Winkogo with salt and corn.
chairman of the group, Mr. Joseph Afaala-ani Aganzuah told Word News that the group was formed in the early part of 2019 and had been supporting the needy in society for the past four years.
He noted that the group is made up of eight young men who make a monthly monetary contribution and at the end of the year, their contributions are put together to solve a particular need of the needy in the society. Some years ago, they organized soccer competition for the needy and at end of the soccer games, they gave pens, pencils and books. Some competitions saw the group giving out school uniforms to five needy pupils each from the five basic schools in Winkogo.

For this year, they are supporting 22 vulnerable people in Winkogo with corn and salt.
Though it’s not big enough to satisfy them for a longer period, it will, according to the group sustain them for some time.
Although all members of the group are not well to do in financially, they believe in touching lives, as the Bible preaches about giving arms and paying tithe.
He noted that the group’s dream for the future is to grow stronger financially to offer support to the vulnerable in the region and beyond.
