Mr. Robert Alibo Ayinenaba, a parliamentary aspirant for the New Patriotic Party in the Talensi constituency of the Upper East Region has indicated that his humidity, truth , dedication to the service of his people as well as his good character gave him victory over his contenders.
Mr. Robert Alibo secured 235 votes while his two contenders, the district chief executive Mr. Thonas Doanab Wuni Pearson had 196 and his colleague Mr. Williams Zoogah the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Northern Development Authority also pulled 82 votes out of the 513 valid votes cast.
Addressing delegates after the electoral commission declared the results, Mr Robert Alibo thanked God for working through the people around him who actually saw hope and established themselves in the struggle to secure victory for the party. He indicated that his message was packaged with truth owing to the fact truth lasts long in the minds of the people.
“we basically packaged a message, a message of truth and you know truth last long, I want to comment the NPP delegates, they have always done it and I know this the third time they are doing it. They have believe in the humble person of Alibo , I’m dedicated to service , I come with humility and that humility will transcend the NPP delegates , they are going to be vessel that will carry who Alibo is to the larger Talensi populist and will be the trick”.
Alibo promised to deliver as an outstanding Member of Parliament for the good people of Talensi when given the nod.
The district chief executive Thomas Wuni and Mr Williams Zoogah, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Northern Development Authority both declared their support for Alibo Robert to ensure the party recapture the seat for the NPP in the 2024 general election
