A community member who approached the scene, saw them and turned with his motorbike. He then ran to inform other members of the community who organised themselves and attacked the robbers.

Upon seeing the youth, the robbers took to their heels into the nearby bushes. The youth did not relent but pursued them and manged to arrest three of them and beat them with various weapons till they gave out the ghost.

Another two were also pursued in Zomela after word was sent out to them to watch out for them. The Community members did not spare the two. They also hit them with various items till they died.
