The Youth Organizer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bongo Constituency in the Upper East Region, Mr Jonathan Asanabugre has appealed to the youth wing of the Party to unite and work to capture the Parliamentary seat from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 general elections.
Attempts by the NPP to capture the Bongo Constituency seat which is traditionally for the NDC, since 1992, had over the years failed.
Mr Asanabugre said but for disunity within the rank and file of the Party in the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections, the NPP would have won the seat for the first time.
He made the appeal in an interview with Word news on the side-line of a meeting with Electoral Area Coordinators in Bongo.
“As a Youth Organizer, I decided to bring us together to sit down as a house and see how we can strategize going into election 2024,” he said.
He advised members of the Party to put away their differences and work together towards election 2024, and further called on the youth wing and other members of the NPP to return to the Party and ensure they took the seat from the NDC.
