Group Threaten to Shoot G.E.S Director Over The Transfer of Teachers.

Madam Alice Aberinga, the Municipal Director of Education for the Kansena Nankana Municipality has been served with death notice by unknown persons in the municipality over the transfer of eight teachers of the Our Ladies of Lourdes Junior High School.

The unknown persons in an error-ridden letter titled : A letter to the director, her favourite team,nepotism team,her gossip team of education in the Kasena Nankana Municipality, which has been intercepted by Word News, threatened to “put a bullet in her head or contract someone within the region to do away with you” if she doesn’t desist from insulting and intimidating teachers and their wives within the directorate

“The way u n ur team, especially u go to school to visit and u speak to teachers who are even older than u anyhow and the way you sack ut fellow women to send their kids back home is just a shame on ur womanhood. be warned because you harshly spoke to our dad’s, mum’s as well as other teachers just this last term and recently. “

Be seriously warned if this continues we will not have option than to put a bullet on your head or contract some people within the region to secretly to do away with you.

Madam Alice Aberinga confirmed to Mr. Simon Agana, that she has read the letter threatening her life by unknown persons who left the letter at the front of her office the previous day after they had closed from work. She however said she has reported the case to the Navrongo police.

The Municipal Director of Education is alleged to have transferred all teachers including the Headmistress in the Our Ladies of Lourdes (OLL JHS)Junior High School in the Kasena Nankana Municipality as punishment for reporting to school late on two occasions that she had visited the school.

Some of the teachers who confirmed the transfer to Word News said they were individually called to pick their letters at the Municipal Directorate. One of the teachers said “we were called individually to pick our letters at the office in September. In the letter, there was no reason stated for our transfer.”

The Parent Association Executives of the school in a letter to the Municipal Chief Executive, protested the decision to transfer the teachers en bloc especially at a time when the JHS 3 students were being prepared for the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination which comes off in October 2022 and called on him to intervene.

“We the undersigned Parents Association executives wish to draw your attention to, and express our dissatisfaction the sudden and unexpected of all the eight teaching transfer, including the headteacher of the Our Ladies of Lourdes Junior High School “

“Sir, we therefore, wish to appeal to your distinguished office to intervene in this matter since in our estimation, the decision to transfer all the three teaching staff at this time has the potential of affecting students’ academic work and performance, especially third year students that are currently preparing to write the BECE examination in October,2022.
