A Teacher at Gambibgo Kindergarten (KG) in the Bolgatanga East District was honored with a special recognition award during the 65th Independence day celebration.
The KG teacher, MR. Naah Sandoh Stephen was honored by the district education directorate for his hard work and special interest in the upbringing of pupils at the kindergarten level.
” Your passion and interest have always been to engage with children and bring out the best in them. You have worked to make your class the desired standard, which is a delight to watch.”- A citation of honor read.
An excited District Education Director, George Asira who read a citation to honor the KG2 teacher, expressed profound gratitude to him for discharging his service as a teacher and a Jolly Phonics Specialist to the admiration of all.
Mr. Asira also underscored the willingness of the pupil’s favorite Teacher and Jolly Phonics Specialist to help train other teachers in early grade classes in the district on the use of Jolly Phonics.
“Indeed, as a specialist in the field of early grade reading, you have offered, committed, and trained all our teachers in the early grade classes in the district on the use of Jolly Phonics for Two months without cost to the District Education Office.” – He noted in appreciation.
The award winner, Mr. Naah Sandoh Stephen is a KG2 teacher and Jolly Phonics Specialist at Gambibgo Kindergarten school in Bolgatanga East District of the Upper East Region.
He took this interest to a higher level by specializing in Jolly Phonics with Jolly Learning in the United Kingdom, (UK).
Recently, he offered to moderate radio lessons carried out on WORD FM (88.3 MHz), the local radio station, in Zuarungu at no cost to the education directorate.
Similarly, another citation of honor was presented to MR. Atauh Michael Anaba, the School Management Committee (SMC) Chairman, of the Yarigabisi cluster of schools, in the district.
Part of the citation read: ”You laboured at all times to ensure that the staff and pupils of the Yarigabisi Cluster of Schools are happy to teach and learn respectively. You kept discharging your duties with dedication, diligence, and distinction.”
Certificates were also awarded to schools that participated in the parade which included; primary, Junior High, and Senior High schools, and one Tertiary institution, Zuarungu Nursing, and midwifery training college.
The District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. David Akologo on behalf of the president of the republic, Nana Addo Dankwa -Akuffo Addo, delivered a keynote address encouraging Ghanaians to jealously guard the country’s democracy as they work together to accelerate development.
“We have to embrace this and hold it firmly being mindful of our focus in working to further develop our country. we cannot say there were never challenges, we met several challenges but have been on course working to develop Ghana through collaboration and co-operation in various forms.”- DCE started.
The 65th Independence day celebration of Ghana had its local version in the Bolga-East District as it was across all the districts across the country.
This year’s district parade brought together school children, members of the local chapter of the Ghana National Association of Dressmakers and Tailors, the Hair Dressers and Beauticians Association, and personnel from the security services matching to showcase the readiness of the men and women of Ghana to fight in defense of our territorial rights and freedom.`
