Mr Al-Rashid Mohammed Regional Director of DVLA Bolgatanga.

Mr. Al- Rashid Mohammed added that the region exusted its last year’s treshold of 19,099 prefix number of plates. “ last year, we exhausted the US prefix, but because the year was almost ending, we have to borrow from Wa. we took a hundred plates from our branch in Wa, so in our system, you see UN that is from Wa.
With the motorbikes, most people in the region use motorbikes as the population increases, when we pick one prefix like the UE , we register motors up to 9,099 and shift to a different prefix that is why we shift from UE to US”
He added that the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority made a significant achievement due to the vigorous education the outfit made over the years and because of the opening of new branches in Bawku, Zebila, Navrongo and Pelungu.

He noted that the unwillingness of people to get motor ridding licenses as well as renewal of road worthy is still the biggest challenge of the DVLA in the region.
