UE/R: Two Districts Perform “Poorly” in the Local Government Service performance contract assessments.

In the latest Local Government Services performance contract  national ranking of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assembles (MMDAs) released by the Local Government Service, the Binduri and Tempeni districts were rated unsatisfactorily with a score of  47.5 percent and 44.1 percent respectfully.

Out of 160 MMDAs in Ghana, the Binduri district led by its coordinating director, Mr. Yakubu Osman was placed 245th position while Mr. Seidu Samani led Tempane district to settled on the 251st position making the two directors the poorly performed coordinating directors in the Upper East Region.

On the other hand, Abubakari Amadu of the Kassena Nankana West district scored 88.19 percent placing 10th on the national league table, Kassena Nankana East Municipal led by AL-Hassan ZIBLIM Alhassan was placed 31st position with 84.07 percent.

Meanwhile five other districts in the region were placed under the very good category with a score range between 79.82 percent and 70.19percent.

The districts under this category included: Alhassan Ahmed of the Bawku West district 79.8 percent took the 64th position, Sumaila Ewuntomah Abudu of Bolgatanga Municipality scored 73 percent placing 124th position, Mr. David Puobenyere Nar-Ire scored 71.50 percent and settled on the 135th position, David Akologo of the Pusiga District 70.63 percent was positioned 144th, Alhaji Musah Yussif led Talensi District to score 70.19percent and took the 146th position.

The following districts also fell under the  “good” Category: the Bongo District led by Daniel Kanyage with an overall rating of 66.69percent and positioned 171st, Alhaji Mohammed Issahaku  scored 60.25 percent and took 211th slot, Bukari Mumuni Mahama of Builsa South District scored 53.88 percent and placed 232nd, Nabdam District 50.57percent and Joseph A. Abugre’s led Garu District was rated  50.13percent and managed 244th on the list.

The NATIONAL RANKINGS OF MMDAs IN THE 2020 ANNUAL LOCAL GOVERNMENT SERVICE PERFORMANCE CONTRACT was as a result of the annual performance evaluation of all the 260 Metropolitan ,Municipal and District Assemblies ( MMDAs) and the 16 Regional Coordinating Council (RCCs).
