Talensi District Assembly Construct a Modern KG Block For Wuug Community.

The Talensi district Assembly has responded to the calls by the Wuug Community to replace an old dilapidated KG block that was used as a classroom to teach pupils of the Wuug Primary school by constructing a modern KG block for the community.

Before the construction of the KG block, pupils of the Wuug Community were housed in a near death trap facility with insanitary conditions where they had their classes.

The new facility has two office rooms for teachers and School administration and two classrooms that will house the pupils for classes. The facility also has an open yard that will serve as playing ground for the students.

The new KG block will also be connected to the national grid and fitted with ceiling fans.

The assembly before constructing the new KG block roofed the Duug Primary school which was roofed off in 2015 and connected it to the national grid.

Handing over the facility to the community members and GES authorities,  the District Chief Executive of the Talensi District , Hon Christopher Boatbill said his attention was drawn to the primary block which was roofed off in 2015 and he responded to it swiftly ”when NPP won power and I was made the DCE, my attention was drawn to this school that was roofed off in 2015 which our colleagues in the NDC couldn’t roof. I quickly attended to it and had it roofed. I connected it to the national grid and kept ceiling fans in all the classrooms and it looked like a new building”

After re-roofing, he also supplied them with furniture to make the school conducive for learning. DR. Boabil said he was touched when he saw the condition under which the kindergarten pupils were learning.

“what was critical and touching was the fact that the little ones in Kindergarten were housed in an old mud and a very dilapidated structure and the community cried and pleaded. We saw the need and we went back to the assembly again and fortunately we had some funding from DPAT that we decided to pay attention to provide this Kindergarten block for this kids in Wuug here.”

The DCE also took time to remind members of the community the many projects and facilities that have been brought to the community by the NPP government and urged them to vote for the NPP both in the parliamentary and presidential in the upcoming 2020 general elections.

“ we came and government gave us 10 dams under the 1v1d project and we gave one to Yammeriga which is under Wuug. But I am telling you, if you vote for the NPP and the Parliamentary candidate, I will make sure that the Wuug Community get its own dam”

Dr. Boatbil also promised to construct a CHPS facility for the community and fix the road leading to it.

Hon. Duannab Pearson Wuni, the parliamentary candidate of the NPP who was at the function begged the community members present to give him the nod to represent the Talensi constituency for comprehensive development “ we shouldn’t always wait for others to come and do for us, we must also dofor ourseves but if we go to the polls and give small to the NPP and say oh, John Dramani Mahama is our brother. Vote is not about brotherhood, vote is about who can do the work. I am standing here to beg you, if you vote for us and we win, we will come and add a Junior High School for your community.”

“In this year’s election, the NPP presidential candidate will win, but if the president wins and you refuse to vote for me to go to parliament and bring development; we will still be at where we are.”

The facility was constructed at a cost of Ghc180,000.00 from DPAT.
