The Dr. Kenneth Elvis Anewenah Foundation, established in memory of Dr. Kenneth Elvis Anewenah has made significant contributions to the community in the Upper East Region of Ghana.
This initiative commemorates Dr. Anewenah’s birthday and continues his legacy of philanthropy, as he dedicated his birthdays to helping the needy and the less fortunate in society. In an exclusive interview, Bamidele Amao, Board Secretary of the Foundation, discussed their recent support for several orphanages and health facilities.

The Foundation has provided over 1,123 packs of food to several beneficiaries, including the Centre for Child Development (CCD), Catholic Diocese of Navrongo-Bolgatanga, God’s Love Residential Home, Mama Laadi Children’s Home, Village of Hope, Bolgatanga Regional Hospital, Navrongo Prison Service, and War Memorial Hospital. This marks the second year the Foundation has conducted such activities to honour Dr. Anewenah’s memory.

Amao reflected on the spirit of giving that characterized Dr. Anewenah’s life, stating, “We are continuing in that same spirit by reaching out to four villages in the Bolgatanga area, visiting the regional hospital, and spending time with the inmates in Navrongo before concluding our efforts at the War Memorial Hospital.”Amao expressed deep gratitude to all the donors who made this initiative possible, particularly the staff of LESKEN Enterprises Ltd. and MYTURN Construction Firm, who played instrumental roles in organizing the event. He appealed to the public, especially friends and acquaintances of Dr. Anewenah to contribute to the Foundation’s efforts, emphasizing that those who wish to support can find the Foundation’s details to help build a sustainable fund for future activities.

Additionally, Amao shared the Foundation’s plans to support the War Memorial Hospital with medical equipment and adopt girls’ schools in the Upper East Region. The targeted schools include Our Lady of Lourdes Girls’ Senior High School, Bolgatanga Senior High School, and Bolgatanga Girls’ Senior High School. The Foundation aims to provide essential commodities such as water and other necessities to these institutions.

Dsp Bugre Joachim, regional chaplain of the Ghana Prison Service in Navrongo, expressed his gratitude to the Kenneth Elvis Anewenah Foundation for their timely support. He noted that the prison is currently struggling to provide decent meals for inmates. “The government’s allocations are insufficient,” he stated, explaining that the current budget of 1.80 Ghana cedis for three meals is inadequate.

He emphasized the need for collaboration with benevolent organizations and churches to ensure inmates receive proper nutrition.
Amao reiterated the Foundation’s commitment to honouring Dr. Anewenah’s legacy by continuing to support the community and addressing pressing needs. He encouraged everyone to contribute to this important cause, highlighting the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to making a positive impact in the Upper East Region.
