
The tragic helicopter crash in Ghana, which claimed the lives of eight prominent government officials, has shocked the nation.
This incident marks the first of its kind in Ghana, resulting in the loss of high-ranking officials who were aboard a Ghana Armed Forces Z-9 helicopter en route to Obuasi on a national assignment when the aircraft lost radar contact.Among the victims were Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for DefenceAlhaji Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister for EnvironmentAlhaji Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator and former Minister for food and agriculture and Upper East Regional minister who serve the region with honour from 2013 -2014 ,Dr Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC),Mr Samuel Aboagye, Former Parliamentary Candidate,Squadron Leader Peter Bafimi AnalaFlying Officer Twum Ampadu and Sergeant Ernest Addo.
The Upper East Regional Coordinating Council (UERCC), led by Mr. Donatus Atanga Akamugri has expressed deep sorrow and profound shock at the news of this tragic helicopter crash.This devastating event has plunged the entire nation into mourning and left the families of the victims in indescribable pain.
It represents a colossal loss to both the government and the people of Ghana.
