MTN Ghana Launches Inaugural Sustainability Week, Reinforces Commitment to Sustainability

Accra, November 6, 2024, MTN Ghana has officially launched its first Sustainability Week celebration under the theme “Sustainability: Our Collective Responsibility.” This week-long event underscores the company’s dedication to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.

The celebrations kicked off with the unveiling of an electric car and motorbike at MTN House, complemented by a display highlighting how MTN is leveraging solar energy and renewable resources to reduce its energy footprint.

During the event, Stephen Blewett, CEO of MTN Ghana, stressed the importance of sustainability for future generations. He remarked, “Sustainability is for future generations, and the current generation has a responsibility to care for the environment. MTN is implementing initiatives aimed at achieving our ESG goals and strategic intent.” Blewett urged MTN employees to embrace sustainable practices to contribute to a better world.

The program for the week features activities such as “Lunch and Learn,” “Eco Talk,” and “Bright Conversations,” designed to engage employees and stakeholders in reflecting on MTN’s journey and its future plans.
