Givers of Life Foundation (G.OL.F),a new humanitarian Foundation has been launched in the Upper East Regional Capital of Bolgatanga, to provide support to the less privilege in society. The foundation was established on Saturday, 10th September,2022 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Social Centre in Bolgatanga.
Explaining the rational behind the inauguration of the foundation, the Chief Executive of the foundation, Madam Abigail Habiba Ali Musah, said the foundation was formed with the aim of providing assistance to people who are less privileged and who faced numerous survival challenges.
” Whenever I’m eating, I weep. Though I have food and everything, what of those who cannot afford food? So I prayed to God to to link me with my destiny helper so that I can come back and help my people, hence this foundation.”
Madam Abigail said,the formation of the foundation is the result of a vision she had at her tender age to support the needy in society. She said she loved to provide support to the needy when she was just 20 years and would often sacrifice what she had to eat for others, something she learnt from her father.
“I grew up with so much attachment with my father. I couldn’t describe him. He could give whatever that he has to humanity. He used his salary to sponsor the education of others. I was initially angry with my father whenever he denied us what we requested but gave to outsiders.”
Madam Abigail said she got to the U.S through the benevolence of someone she had helped in time past, and when she got there, she shared her vision with her friends, who bought into it and the Foundation was duly established in the U.S.
Mr. Peter Larry, the patron of the foundation, explained that the foundation as part of its plans, will move a group of medical experts from the United States of America to Ghana, to carry out medical outreach and free screening services for the people in the Upper East Region and the Upper West Region at its short term goal. It will also establish a medical facility to take care of the needs of the vulnerable and less privilege in the communities as its medium term goal. The foundation will also establish a food processing factory to provide employment opportunities to its target group as its long term goal.
Rev. Pastor Dominic Ziba of the Holy Ghost Temple of the Assemblies of God church, admonished the public to support the foundation to help the needy and disadvantaged in society because that is true worship.
” Helping the vulnerable, the disadvantaged, the needy, the weak and the poor in society is true worship. I stand this afternoon to challenge Ghanaians in the body of Christ to show the love of Christ to all and sundry especially the vulnerable by showing them that we care and that God loves them”
Mr. Peter Larry explained that the foundation in its current state will cover the two Upper East and Upper West regions and will target widows and widowers, orphans and other vulnerable groups in society.
