BAWKU: SOLDIERS ACCUSED OF KILLING A NINE YEAR OLD BOY, TWO OTHERS


 
Three persons have been shot dead in Bawku. A nine year old boy is reported to have died as soldiers allegedly shot indiscriminately at Sabongari and Buabula in the Bawku Municipality.

Some houses have also been burnt down


Speaking exclusively to Word news, a resident, Mr. Amadu   Gariba noted that the three deceased died following the erratic gun battle shots from a team of soldiers who evaded the area.
Residents of Sabongari and Buabula are accusing the military personnel of invading their areas and indiscriminately shot at unarmed civilians. They also accused the military men of burning down properties as well as the killing of livestock.

Kussasis and Mamprusis in Bawku late last year engaged in a chieftaincy gun battle. But the residents of Sabongari and Buabula says this morning attack from the military appears strange and unusual.

The injured military officers have been airlifted to Accra for medical treatment.

Some properties have been destroyed

Superintendent Simon Akabati, the Bawku Municipal Police Commander told word  news that his outfit is aware of two persons that has been confirmed dead while three military officers who sustain various degree injures has been airlifted to Accra for treatment.
 
Supt Simon Akabati also indicated that calm has been restored in the Bawku Municipality and its environs.
