The 4th edition of the Adonko Upper East Old Skuul Reunion came to an end on Sunday, 2nd January, 2022 at the Mobile Astro turf in Bolgatanga. The event was for two days which started on 31st December and climaxed with artists performance on 2nd January 2022.
Sansec Old Students wrote their name in the history books of champions as the overall winners of this event which started four(4) years ago. They amassed 250 points from seven sporting disciplines namely; Football, Volleyball, Tag of Peace, Egg on spoon race, Sack race, Cards match and 100m race.
They won football and Tag of Peace, they were first(1st) runner-up in Egg on spoon race and Sack race and placed third (3rd) in Card match and 100m race. Botech Old Students were 1st Runner-up ( they won Volleyball and Egg on spoon race, placed second in 100m and Tag of Peace and third in Sack race) with 180 points. Third best Old Students went to Zusec, they were second in football and won the Cards match which gives them 110 points. Sansec were not counted among the favourite Old Students Association to win because previously they are not always organised. But they have produced good players who are playing in various Divisinal Leagues in the region and be young.
This year’s Old Students event features 12 Old Skuul Associations namely; Bigboss Old Students Association, Botech Old Students Association, Zamstech Old Students Association, Zusec Old Students Association, Konsec Old Students Association, Navasco Old Students Association, Notre Dame Old Students Association, Sansec Old Students Association, Gosectech Old Students Association, Kusanaba Old Students Association, Bogiss Old Students Association and Tamasco/Nobisco Old Students Association. It was also community participation that is Old Students adopt communities that their alma matter is located to support them in any way.
The overall winner (Sansec Old Students took a trophy and Ghc 5,000.00 which will be use for a project in their alma matter. Second and third best Old Students Association will also received an award which has not been disclosed yet. Previous winners and the project they undertook for their alma matter. Old Students of Zamstech were the maiden edition winners that is in 2017, they took Ghc 500.00 which they used to buy cement for their alma matter, in 2018 it was Bigboss, they took Ghc 1,000.00 which they used for street lightening for their alma matter and in 2019 Botech Old Students won it with a cash prize of Ghc 3,000.00, they used it to renovate an abandoned washroom for their alma matter.
This year’s edition was titled sponsored by Adonko Next Level Energy Drink with support from Guniess and fan yogort.
