WAEC Releases 2021 WASSCE Provisional Results

The West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) has released provisional results of Senior High School  candidates who sat for the WASSCE 2021 exams.

The West Africa Examination Council in a press release hosted on its social media (facebook) handle, announced the release of the provisional results.

“The West African Examinations Council wishes to announce for the information of the General public that it has released provisional results of candidates, who sat for the WASSCE for school candidates,2021 in Ghana.”

The council also announced that it will make available login details to heads of schools to enable them print the statement of results of their candidates..

It has therefore advised students to contact their various school heads for their results.

In all, a total of 446,352 candidates made up of 221,439(49.6%) males and 224,913(50.4%) females from 965 schools sat for the exams nationwide from both public and private Senior High Schools. The number of students for 2021 is 18.8% higher than the 2020 figure of 375,763 candidates.

A total of 3,545 candidates who registered to sit for the exams were absent.

There was low performance in subjects in the 2021 provisional results compared to the 2020 results: English language and  Mathematics recorded 54.08 and 54.11 respectively in 2021 compared to 57.34% and 65.71% in 2020.

However, candidates performance in Integrated Science and Social Studies was higher in 2021 with 65.7% and 66.03% respectively in 2021 compared to 52.53% and 64.31% in 2020.

SHS Candidates sat for the 2021 exams between August and October 2021.
