The President of the Republic of Ghana has nominated Diana Asoketarige Ayamga, a native of Zorko Awaah, she doubles as the branch women organiser for the Zorko Awaah polling station, to serve as the new District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bongo District.
The nomination follows the passing of the late DCE, Mr. Joseph Abaa Akaseke, who died on 22 February 2026 at the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital after a short illness.In accordance with Article 243 of the 1992 Constitution and the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), as amended by the Local Governance (Amendment) Act, 2017 (Act 940), the President submitted Ms. Ayamga’s name to the Bongo District Assembly to fill the existing vacancy.
Her appointment is subject to the approval of the District Assembly.
