
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communication Bureau in the Upper East Region of Ghana has suspended all communication activities to mourn the eight prominent government officials who tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash. The officials were aboard a Ghana Armed Forces Z-9 helicopter en route to Obuasi for a national assignment when the aircraft lost radar contact.In light of this tragedy, the Regional Communications Officer, Jonathan Abdullah Salifu, along with the leadership of the Regional Communications Bureau and in consultation with party leadership, has directed a temporary suspension of all communication activities across the region for the remainder of the week.Mr Salifu expressed, “It is with a heavy heart that we address you in this moment of national and party sorrow. The tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of some of our finest patriots—Ministers of State, Party Executives, and Security Personnel—has left us deeply shaken. As we come to terms with this heartbreaking loss, we are reminded of the fragility of life and the profound sacrifices made in service to our nation and our great party.”He concluded with a prayer for the bereaved families, asking for comfort and strength during this difficult time.
