Armed personnel of the Ghana Armed forces today brutalised several persons at Bugri and Garu in the Tempane and Garu districts of the Upper East Region in a joint down swoop.
Several persons are said to be nursing varied degree of injuries.

Health staff from Bawku are currently enroute to assist the limited health staff at the Garu Presbyterian health Centre where most of the injured are currently being treated.
Reasons for the swoop are unknown.
Women and children have been physically abused. Several others have also fled the two communities.

At the Bugri Health Centre, some of the seriously injured persons were referred to other higher health institutions.
District chief executive for Tempane, who described the situation as bizarre, told Word News that frantic effort is being employed to ensure the health needs of the injured.
Anabida Issaka, as at the time of the telephone interview disclosed that the health facilities were outstretched. ” as I am speaking with you, most of my people are wondered, so I am attending to them.”
Some persons, according to locals, have been arrested and taken to an undisclosed location.
