The Member of Parliament for the Nabdam Constituency,Hon. Dr. Mark Kurt Nawani has donated educational materials to all final year students in the Nabdam District towards this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
Hon. Nawani donated eight hundred (800) exercise books and eight hundred (800) mathematical sets to all BECE candidates who will sit for this year’s exams from 17th October, 2022 to assist them prepare adequately for the exams. This will be the seventh time that the Member of Parliament has donated educational materials to final year BECE candidates in his district.
At a brief ceremony at the forecourt of the district education directorate to hand over the materials to the district education directorate for onward distribution to the students, Hon. Nawani said the gesture which has become an annual ritual since 2015 when he burst into the political scene, is to help the students prepare adequately for their final exams.
” Since 2015 when i was not even a member of Parliament, I identified this idea and i said every year i will be doing it. And from 2015 to 2021 and now 2022, i have being doing this. The reason why I do it is that in your final exams you might need this basic things and it could be that some of you might not be able to afford it. So I decided that let me do this presentation.”
Dr. Nawani added that he has assisted the districts Directorate with about Gh10,000.00 to repair the official pickup of the directorate and another Gh7,000.00 to support the Directorate to organise district mock for the students all from the MP’s share of Getfund.
The MP advised the students to make good use of the materials and put up their maximum best to excel in the exams.
” And I am asking you students to make good use of them and ensure that when you write your exams, you pass and pass with flying colours. You have the prayers of the district directorate that I work with and yiu have my prayers genuinely.”
In all 642 candidates comprising 279 boys and 363 girls will sit for the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination in the Nabdam district.
