Upper East Regional branch of the Multimillion telecommunication network MTN brought a once-a-year smile to some Christmas day babies in some parts of the Upper East Region. The telecommunication giant went on a hamper dashing spree to women who were put to bed on the birth day of Jesus Christ.
At the War Memorial Hospital in Navrongo, Mrs. Benedicta Atanga who delivered twins got two of the share of the Christmas hampers. At the Bolgatanga hospital, Mrs. Rita Kolbilla also joyfully took her share. At the Bongo hospital, Mrs. Atampugre Adugpoka Patricia benefit the gesture. Items such as babies’ wipers, baby towels, baby diapers, baby oils, playing toys, soaps, pampers and other baby essentials were distributed the beneficiaries.
The beneficiaries expressed their profound appreciation to MTN. Upper East Regional manager of MTN, Richard Asamane disclosed that MTN Ghana was targeting about 40 women in the Upper East Region and about 500 hampers were distributed nation wide at the cost of 150,000.00.
“MTN is sharing the joy of the season and we are here today to put smiles on the mothers and babies that we’re delivered on the 25th. so as if we speak now, MTN Ghana is doing this through its employee volunteerism across all the 16 regions of Ghana and across all the 16 regions we are donating about 500 hampers. it’s costing us one hundred fifty thousand Ghana cedis 150,000.00 “
He also stated that MTN will soon embark on community to community registration of its members in the ongoing registrations of SIM cards.
Madam Eugenia Mensah, the Maternity ward in-charge of the War Memorial Hospital told Word news that the gift will ease the financial burden of the mothers.
