The Upper East Regional Minister, Mr. Donatus Atanga Akamugri, paid a visit to Dr. Augustus Goosie Tanoh, the National Coordinator of the 24-hour Economy and Senior Presidential Adviser, overall lead coordinator for the flagship economic programme under the Office of the President.
The meeting took place at the 24HREA Secretariat, where Mr. Akamugri briefed the national coordinator on his planned investment trip to the Republic of China, as well as issues relating to the implementation of the 24HR E economy policy.Following a fruitful discussion,
Dr. Tanoh and the Upper East Regional Minister fruitful discussion agreed that the 24HREA Secretariat would send a delegation to the region to inspect and assess opportunities for supporting and expanding the GH-B Lord Poultry Farm in Bongo District.
Mr. Akamugri explained that the farm includes production of poultry, guinea fowls, goats, and sheep and noted that he visited the facility some weeks ago to monitor activities.
He further stated that the assessment team would also examine the possibility of establishing a feed mill and cold storage facilities, linked to the Tamne Dam, to help strengthen the 24-hour economy programme in selected districts and support farmers’ investment and growth.
In addition, Dr. Tanoh agreed to engage private partners to establish solar power plants in the region, to improve energy supply for industrialization and the operation of factories.
The delegation is expected to be in the region by the end of October 2026 to inspect and evaluate these laudable government initiatives.
