A young man of about 39 years old has died at Loogri, a suburb of the Nabdam District after his wife, Bogpoka Banga, hit his head several times with a pestle.

The deceased, Mr. Agyei Banga a building contractor, was found in the pool of blood at their home when a family member rushed to the house after the first born escaped from her mother to inform the extended family that her mother has locked the whole house with her father inside and asked that they run away from the house to Walewale.

The family head, Mr. Bawa, who confirmed the sad news to Word News said he met her granddaughter in the early hours of yesterday 15th April,2023 at the entrance to the house who informed him that her mother has locked her father inside their house and asked that they leave the house to Walewale but she ran away from her to inform them.

” I met my granddaughter yesterday early in the morning at the entrance and told me that her father was lying in the room and her mother locked the house and asked that they leave for Walewale. So I sent one of the boys to rush and find out what the problem was. When he got there, the whole house was locked and the boy had to breakthrough the house and when he opened the room, Agyei was found in a pool of blood.”

Mr. Bawa said they couldn’t immediately identify what weapon was used to kill Mr. Agyei but a pestle stained with blood was seen at the scene of the incident and it is suspected that she might have used the pestle to hit him several times till he died.

He said they couldn’t immediately locate the whereabout of the woman with her three kids but later got the information that she has ran to her parents in Walewale in the North East Region. She said they have sent someone to Walewale to fetch her back to the community to face justice.

At the Nabdam police station, Inspector Amadu Zakaria confirmed that the incident has been reported to the police and that the police is working with the family to arrest the woman.

The family head assured that she would be handed over to the police to face justice if they are able to bring her back from her whereabout.
